We offer professional, evidence-based therapy informed by a Biblical perspective. Our sessions often include prayer & scripture. By providing “Tender Help for Tough Problems,” we serve others and Christ.

Marriages on the Brink of Divorce & more
College friends Dr. Peter Robbins and Dr. Kevin Downing transitioned from co-youth pastors to pioneers in Christian counseling. They founded TPC in January 1983 after obtaining their Psychology degrees from Fuller. Their dedication has mended numerous marriages, families and individuals.

Our experience
Renowned in SoCal, TPC gained fame in the early 1990s with the 'Journey of the Heart' radio show on KKLA (99.5 FM). Our co-founders returned to the air in March 2011 on the FRANK PASTORE SHOW, discussing “The Four Conflict Styles in Marriage,” and continue to influence through various programs.

Statement of faith
WE BELIEVE in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally co-existing in three persons, Father Son and Holy Spirit. (Duet. 6:4; Heb. 1:1-3; Matt.3:16-17, 28:18-19; John 15:26; II Cor. 13:14)
WE BELIEVE the scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind, and the divine and final authority for all faith and life. (II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:19-21; Eph. 1:13; Deut. 8:3; Psa. 119; Is. 40:8; Acts 20:32)
WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father. (Isa. 7:14; Isa. 53; Rom. 1:3-4, 3:23-26, 5:6-21, 8:1-3, 34; Eph. 1:20, 4:7-10; Col. 2:9; 1 Tim. 2:5)
WE BELIEVE the Holy Spirit is the agent of regeneration and renewal for believers in Jesus Christ and that He makes the presence of Jesus Christ real in believers and enables them to live in a manner that honors God. (Titus 3:4-7; John 7:37-39, 14;16-18; Eph. 3:16-19; Rom. 8:11-16)
WE BELIEVE that the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ and His physical resurrection provide the only ground for justification, forgiveness, and salvation for all who believe, and only those who trust in Him alone are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become Children of God. (Rom. 3:21-31; I Cor. 15:1-7; II Cor. 5:21; John 1:12-13; Gal. 2:16)
WE BELIEVE in the blessed hope - The return of Christ to Earth. (Luk. 21:27; acts 1:11; Heb. 9:28)
WE BELIEVE the individual is multidimensional and, as such, should be treated physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually in order to achieve personal and interpersonal wholeness. (Tim. 5:23; Phil. 2:1-4; Rom 12:2, 9-16; Gal. 6:2,5; Ps. 27:3-5; Jam. 1:5)
