AREAS OF SPECIAL FOCUS
Jamie believes in creating a safe and supportive environment with clear direction, in which clients can grow and change. She understands that her role is to guide clients toward personal healing, relational restoration, and spiritual growth. Therefore it is important to equip people with tools that can be used beyond the therapy room to continue progress independently and interdependently with supportive friends, family, and the church community.
Jamie has had the opportunity to counsel people of different backgrounds and understands how culture, age, race, personal and family values can play an important role in the therapeutic process. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples, parents and children who are struggling with depression, grief/loss, anxiety, trauma, and relational conflict. In addition, Jamie has had the opportunity to help family members, who have been affected by mental and physical health problems, including children with special needs.

Jamie has experience and training in counseling in different settings, from the clinical office to the mission field. She has worked with children with autism and their families as a behavioral therapist and children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional challenges within the San Diego School District. Through a global Christian organization, Jamie received unique training as a counselor in the mission field, working in Chile and Brazil. As a trainee, she had the opportunity to work with adults with depression, anxiety, trauma, phase of life problems, and family and relational conflict. After graduation, Jamie has continued to provide therapy at Vanguard University and Providence College Community Services, in which she has worked in the areas of trauma, intense anxiety, communication skills, grief, depression, low self-esteem, and suicidal thoughts, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, and more.
COMMITTED TO MINISTRY
Ephesians 4:15-16 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
Stirred by a belief that God plays a center role to bringing healing and strength, Jamie serves her church by co-leading a support group that was created for the purpose of providing a safe place to individuals dealing with mental health challenges in which they can receive emotional and spiritual support.
