A SEASONED COUNSELOR

As a Christian with a consistent working faith, Wanda includes her personal faith and commitment to Christ, prayer, and compassion for people in her work.  Wanda believes that in the midst of adversity God shows his strength. She is committed loving and working with others in the same manner in which Christ did when he walked upon the earth.

Her work also centers on an African concept called “Sankofa” (san-ko-fah) which means “go back and get it”.  She strongly encourages individuals to embrace the past in order to move forward to live their lives to the fullest as God intended.  Wanda uses play therapy, stories, art therapy, music, poetry, block therapy, and scriptures from the Bible to help her clients to gain new insight into their personal lives.  Using Biblical principles and prayer to give direction, meaning, and substance are the crucial ingredients to helping individuals to have more balanced lives.

COMMITTED TO MINISTRY

At the age of 5, Wanda was lead to Christ by her mother who was active in Child Evangelism for many years.  She began working in her church during her teen years in Vacation Bible School.  She has been a Sunday school teacher, Nursery worker, Children’s Church leader, and bible study leader.

Wanda was also active in Boys and Girls Bible Clubs, and Pioneer Girls director for many years.  She has spoken at Women’s retreats, church functions, and conferences.  She has spent her life being committed to God and ministry as her life verse is…”To do your will oh God is my desire, Your law is written within my heart.” Psalm 40:8

Wanda is very active in her church, attends services and Bible Study regularly.  She enjoys working in the Women’s Ministry as well.
