AREAS OF SPECIAL FOCUS

Psalm 51:10  Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Linda feels blessed to have been led by God to become a therapist, listening, praying, gently guiding toward God and His plan for their lives.  She allows God’s direction in her sessions.  Wholeness, healing, identity formation, clarity of vision…..these appear during therapy and help clients formulate who they are, where they are going and to learn the way.

The work she does with clients is very eclectic, meeting the client right where he or she is and doing her best to see things from their viewpoint.  Their stories are what drives the therapy, helps to set the goals and objectives, and keeps us on track.  Allowing God to be a part of therapy is always the priority.  He guides and casts His love over every session.

Being licensed for over 13 years, Linda has specific interests in working with people who have suffered trauma, either in childhood or adulthood.  Loss and grief, mood disorders, marital difficulties, adolescent problems, and life coaching are some of her special interests.  The client is able to step out of the depression, the panic attacks, and the flashbacks and learn self care, turning their focus to the love in their lives, received and given, and a closer walk with God.  Linda offers her clients a safe and warm environment and has the gift of listening with God’s heart.  Linda is also trained in EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

She served as clinical supervisor for aspiring therapists since 1999.  She currently serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the Board of Behavioral Sciences, helping to prepare examinations for new therapists just becoming licensed.

COMMITTED TO MINISTRY

Jesus is Linda’s Lord and Savior.  She first learned about Jesus as a little girl, going to Sunday school and listening to the stories.  But it was not until many years later that she met Jesus on a very personal basis.  Each day before she gets out of bed, she recommits her life to Him once again.  “He is my power, my strength, and He makes my way perfect, according to His word” (2 Samuel).

He brings people to Linda’s office, and together they seek His help to resolve the problems faced by the clients.  That is Linda’s passion:  helping people find their way back to Jesus and learning how much He loves them and that He has a plan for their lives (Isaiah).

A PROFESSIONAL SPEAKER

Linda has taught classes in adoption, procrastination, balancing work and home life, parenting adolescents, human development, parenting the strong willed child, and many others.

COMMITTED TO FAMILY

After being single for 25 years following a divorce, she says that her best friend and husband was God’s choice for her.  She had given that part of her life to God many years earlier, and was promised on her wedding day that God will always be first in their lives, and because of that, they will always be able to work out their differences.

Linda and her husband have four adult children between them, 12 healthy, happy grandchildren, with whom they stay in close contact.  Linda believes in family and in keeping it together.  She also uses this belief and practice to help her clients to do the same.
