Thank you for lending an ear,
For understanding my anger and fear.
For not letting me be a coward,
For always pushing me forward.
All I had was struggle and strife,
Until you touched upon my life.

Thank you for being stern,
Sometimes it was the only way I'd learn.
You picked me up when I fell,
Gave me a crash course in getting well.

Thank you for caring when I thought no one could,
For being there when no one else would.
For showing me a new approach to try,
A way to succeed,
For telling me it's okay to cry, letting
Me know it was okay to need.
You may not have known your power,
How great the effect,
But you gave me back some self-respect.
Though miracles you couldn't guarantee,
Magic was performed, for you gave me
Back to me!
