EVEN BUTTERFLY WINGS ARE CHANGING FOR FALL!

Be patient! Even when you don’t hear His voice, know that “He who has begun a good work in you, is faithful to complete it.” So the next time you see those trees losing their leaves and everything around seems to be dying, remember that as God has so very carefully designed the changes of seasons and even though we don’t “see” things happening, the bulbs underground, the trees, plants and other life are being pruned for their next season of bloom.  If He cared that much to create a beautiful world of nature, color, and life for our pleasure, just think...

SECRETS TO A SIZZLING LOVE AFFAIR
By Dr. Larry and Deb Walkemeyer

The Language of Feelings:

1. To nurture romance in a relationship you must talk openly about your feelings. Share about your feelings for each other and about life in general.

2. Studies have shown that relationships which flourish spend a larger amount of time sharing both information and emotions.

3. Find out feelings behind events that are happening, feelings about the future, hopes, and dreams. Feelings are present even when men are too busy to see them...

SPECIAL CONCERNS FOR FAMILIES WITH SPECIAL CHILDREN
By Judy Riggan, MFT Registered Intern

A very big influence in my life is a very small person, my son. At the age of 12, Sam is all of 61 pounds. My giant boy in a miniature body was born with cerebral palsy. He is an angel of influence. He is a conduit to the Father. I have watched this little person, with no voice, affect and influence more people than I could ever hope to imagine in my lifetime. Friends and family have made faith, life and career choices; children have become kinder; adults have given up their love of Earthly possessions; and I have become counselor. “The cup of blessings is the cup the meek have to offer to us” (Nouwen, 1986). I have had the blessing to look into my son’s face and see the face of God’s Holy Spirit...

THE HARDEST FINANCIAL HABIT TO BREAK
By Bob Lotich

It has taken a while to break this bad habit and replace it with a good one, but I really believe it has been one of the most valuable moves I made as far as my finances go. Even though it is still something I fight like everyone else, the progress made so far has been tremendously valuable.

Discontentment is rampant in the U.S. culture and increasing in other parts of the world. The Bible says that they eyes of a man are never...

10 TIPS FOR A BETTER BUDGET
By Bob Lotich

Just because a bill isn’t paid monthly doesn’t mean that it can’t be budgeted for monthly. If you pay car insurance every 6 months, just take that bill and divide by 6, viola! Now add that amount to your monthly budget, and when the next bill comes due, the money...

THE MORTGAGE CRISIS AND THE ECONOMY
By Bob Lotich

There are plenty of root causes for the present crisis, depending on whom you ask and where you look. Some point to the several years of artificially low interest rates from the Federal Reserve Bank. These led to an explosion of home building and enabled families to stretch into larger houses. Others blame lenders for creatively introducing no-documentation and interest-only loans as a temptation to over-extended buyers. There is certainly individual responsibility involved whenever anyone signs the imposing mortgage document packet. In any case, many people borrowed money to purchase houses and this increase...

WHAT IS A MONEY MERGE ACCOUNT?
By Bob Lotich

Let’s say you had a $100,000 mortgage for 30 years (@ 7%). You would be paying 7% interest on that $100,000. What if you could transfer $10,000 of it into a loan that didn’t charge interest? You would then have a $90,000 balance on your mortgage being charged the 7% and $10,000 that you still had to pay for, but that was at 0%. I think this is what is essentially happening in the Money Merge programs. Once the $10,000 was paid off, you would then move another $10,000 to a loan with no interest. Then you would be down to less than $80,000. If you continue...

SERVANT QUARTERS

A TASTE OF PARADISE by Gayle Erwin - Pastor, Author, Editor

"We want to have a fifty-fifty marriage, to meet each other half way." My immediate response would be, "Who decides where that midpoint will be? One of you will think you are doing 75% and the other will think you haven't even begun." Fifty-fifty marriages create new battlegrounds and foster failure. One's attention constantly questions whether the other spouse is...
