Chemical Addictions
By Judy Van Bebber, MFT Registered Intern
There has been only a slight decline in the use of alcohol (flavored beverages) by 10th graders between the years of 2006-2007. The use of prescription drugs remains disturbingly high, reporting that “15.4 percent of high school seniors report non-medical use of at least one prescription medication within the past year.” Another disturbing fact reported is the use of heroin (by injection) by 8th graders has gone up from 0.2 percent in 2006 to 0.3 percent in 2007. Teens are also using Vicodin, and OxyContin. Another very important, yet disturbing, fact is 10th graders are not as …

Living Withing Your Budget
By Chemain Evans
First, determine why you want to budget. You need a pretty good reason or you won't feel obligated to do what it takes. Do you want to get out of and/or stay out of credit card debt? Or save for a new car or big vacation? Whatever it is, you need a reason so that you won't be enticed to overspend. Write down your reason or goal where you see it every day.
Second, examine your spending. Are you tracking your expenses often enough? If you aren't looking at your expenses every few days, you probably have...

Lower Your Credit Card Interest Rates
By RateEmpire
Credit card companies don't usually offer to reduce your rates. However, some card issuers have started offering their good customers temporary rate decreases in order to entice them to spend more.

Biblical Perspective on Money
So, the extreme amount of laziness this steward had to not at least put the talent in the bank, coupled with the fact that he let fear paralyze him from doing what he was expected to do infuriated the master.
The parable is speaking of money, but this can also be applied to the gifts and skills that God has entrusted us with. If I refuse to step out in a gift or skill that God has given me because I am afraid or…

Survey Reveals Downsizing Trend for Houses - Census Data Shows Home Sizes Growing
"Larger homes are viewed as burdensome to buyers for many reasons," he said. "In the Northeast, everyone wants to know heating costs, and know how many gallons of fuel the home used." "Smaller homes will continue to be seen as good investments because of the lower maintenance…
