Colossians 3:16-17 says … “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

With so much in turmoil, so much uncertainty, this word comes as a much needed and abrupt interruption to our worry. It’s easy to get our focus off of our faith and onto the distractions of the world, and there are many.

This Thanksgiving season make a commitment to work on surrendering to Jesus those things that you are struggling with. A heart of thankfulness can help us to release those strongholds that keep us in bondage as we reflect on all that Christ has done for us. It’s also good for your health! Of those who live beyond 100 years, the only common denominator among them is an 'attitude of gratefulness, of thankfulness.'

Turning Point Mortgage

U.S. fixed-rate mortgages declined in the latest week, according to Freddie Mac's survey released Thursday, October 16th. The national average interest rate on the benchmark 30-year, fixed-rate loan averaged 6.04% in the week ending Thursday (10/16), down from the prior’s week of 6.46% and the year-ago 6.33%. The 15-year fixed-rate loan averaged 5.72%, down from the same week-ago 6.14% and the year-ago 5.99%.

What does this mean? Rates are staying low and it’s a good time to consider transitioning from an adjustable rate mortgage to a fixed rate. For many, especially those with good credit and who’s adjustable mortgage is nearing it term. Securing a fixed rate mortgage can bring a tremendous amount of security in a very unstable market.
