AREAS OF SPECIAL FOCUS
Kat’s interest in helping and caring for others has always been deeply engrained in her. The appeal of therapy came from a better understanding of communication and how we use communication to express feelings, needs, and desires. Interpersonal communication and interpersonal relationships have always been an area of special focus for Kat. The relationship of the therapist toward the client of being caring, understanding, empathic, and genuine just felt like the right path for Kat to take with her interests. Through her journey as a therapist, Kat has only become more validated in this career decision. She believes therapy is an opportunity for individuals, couples, and families to take hold of their situations and choose to grow through them to become stronger and happier, healthier people and relationships. Kat feels it is an honor and privilege to walk with her clients on this inspiring journey toward self-love and healing relationships. Some areas Kat has had the opportunity to work with include:
1 Peter 4:8 - “Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.”
B.S Degree - Communication Studies - Chapman University, with a minor in Leadership and Organizational Studies.
M.A Degree - Marriage and Family Therapy - Chapman University.

A SEASONED COUNSELOR
Prior to joining Turning Point Counseling, Kat provided therapy to individuals, families, and couples at a low cost outpatient clinic. This experience allowed her to see many various clients, from children and adolescents, to couples and families. Kat had the opportunity to utilize different theories and techniques to provide individualized care to each case in order to assist the client in reaching their goals.
COMMITTED TO MINISTRY
For more than four years, Kat was an active volunteer at her former home church. She and her husband began serving on the Welcome Team at the Café Cart from the moment the church doors opened. Kat believes ministry is a great way to meet people and have opportunities to love one another in very practical ways. She was also a member of a small group that was together for four years as well. Recently, Kat and her husband moved up to Glendora from Orange, and now attend Grace Church of Glendora, where they are getting plugged in and are enjoying meeting their new community.
1 John 4:12 - “No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.”
A PROFESSIONAL SPEAKER
Kat has had the opportunity to share her passion for marriage and family therapy with the younger generation on various occasions through speaking at Career Day events and being a guest speaker for AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) classes on middle school campuses. These experiences have allowed her to share how this field is impacting lives, and have given children the opportunity to learn that therapists can be a safe person for them to speak to in times of need.
COMMITTED TO FAMILY
Kat has been married for five years. She and her husband have committed the first few years of their marriage to focusing on keeping their relationship Christ-centered and strengthening their dyadic partnership as husband and wife. Though they have chosen not to have children yet, they have a dog they adopted together and have loved training and spoiling him for the past five and a half years. Kat is passionate about both her work and her family, and believes balance is completely attainable, even if it may be difficult to see at times. Her favorite way to relax is to take a weekend or day trip with her husband and dog somewhere local to explore and be outdoors.
